The 3rd Annual Bar Business Beverage Competitions will be held on May 19th, 2017 in Chicago, in partnership with The Alcohol Professor and the International Beverage Competitions Group. Winners (provided they are exhibitors) will be showcased at BAR 17, the premier bar industry event in the United States. These trade-buyer-only competitions will be judged by some of the top on-premise tasters & mixologists from around the USA.
The competitions are open to all commercially-produced beer, wine, spirits and mixers from around the world. Your product does not have to be distributed in Chicago or the United States to submit to the competitions. Brands will be rated on a set of criteria including appearance, aroma, taste, mouthfeel, finish and of course price—they are, after all, trade buyer judging competitions. Upon completion of the tastings, panelists will confer and decide which samples are award-worthy.
Award levels are Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Double Gold award winners will be re-tasted by all panelists to establish which brands may be eligible to receive a ‘Best of Category’ endorsement in their pricing category. Winners in each category will become part of a roadshow presentation after the winning results have been published and promoted within the pages of Bar Business Magazine, both in print and online. Winners will also receive a 2-inch round physical medal and the use of the digital image in their POS.
